GreenGuard

GreenGuard is a certification program that tests and certifies products for low chemical emissions and low indoor air quality impact. It is administered by UL Environment, a division of UL, a global independent safety science company.GreenGuard certifications are available for a variety of products, including, building materials, electronics, furniture, personal care products and toys and children’s products. To achieve GreenGuard certification, products must meet strict emissions standards for a variety of chemicals, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, and heavy metals. Products must also meet standards for indoor air quality, including odor and irritant potential.

Products that are certified to the GreenGuard Gold standard meet the most stringent emissions standards. Products that are certified to the GreenGuard Gold Plus standard meet even more stringent emissions standards.
